Omaha Promos fields this question a lot: What's the best t-shirt printing method these days? Used to be, screen printing was the predominate option, but nowadays there are tons of printing options for your custom apparel and custom t-shirt designs. Still, let's start with some basics.
Screen Printing. Simply stated, screen printing from Omaha Promos is the process of pushing liquid inks through woven mesh stencils and onto a fabric t-shirt or other article of clothing. The problem with screen printing is only one color can be managed at a time, meaning additional screens and more time (which means more cost) for every layer of the design. Nevertheless, screen printing from Omaha Promos remains a useful option for those jobs involving simple, one-color designs - we still do a ton of screen printing!
Direct to Garment, or DTG. Omaha Promos' DTG process is a lot more advanced than traditional screen printing. Direct to Garment is a process where ink is applied directly onto your custom shirt via a special inkjet printer. DTG inks are designed to be absorbed by the garment, eliminating the need for screens. DTG printing is highly precise, allowing for detail not achievable in screen printed products. Omaha Promos works hard to keep your decorating options abundant and your promo prices low.
Sublimation Printing. Sublimation is awesome! Omaha Promos can decorate your entire custom shirt project with sublimation printing. This is a full color, full coverage printing technique where your art is initially printed onto a large sheet of easy release paper, then transferred onto your choice of garment or custom clothing. Unlike screen printing, sublimation from Omaha Promos sees your t-shirt's dye totally infused into the fabric, leaving a gorgeous, soft to the touch feel that everyone seems to love.
Embroidery. This one's been around forever, and Omaha Promos is your local leader in the embroidered custom shirts market (and hats... and everything else you can put a needle and thread to, actually). Embroidery remains the first preference of some of our customers looking for uniforms and corporate apparel, but due to limitations in thread count and detail, embroidery is often best left for larger and/or simpler logos. Still, with proper digitizing of your logo, Omaha Promos can pull off amazing embroidery on most clothing materials, but you should know ahead of time the best fabrics are sturdier ones such as nylon which stand up well to the process. Indeed, the denser and more stable the material, the better end result with embroidery, one of the reasons Omaha Promos normally steers clients away from embroidery with stretchy performance fabric choices.
Heat Transfer Vinyl. Heat transfer vinyl added to shirts, hoodies and other garments is exactly what it sounds like: the use of heat and CAD-cut vinyl designs and logos of various shapes and sizes transferred onto your custom clothing selection from Omaha Promos. Heat transfer vinyl (or HVT) makes for a versatile decorating option that goes well beyond custom clothing and apparel, as Omaha Promos can transfer vinyl onto banners, signs, bumper stickers, window decals and more.
Those are just the basics, a few of the more prominent custom apparel, custom clothing, custom hat, custom t-shirt, corporate apparel and uniform decorating options available to you from the promo pros as Omaha Promos! Family owned and operated since in 1923, a registered minority owned small business - proudly woman-owned.
