The family business was born the John Hendriks company and began humbly in 1923 with our maternal great grandfather who printed calendars in the dirt-floored basement of his home in small town Iowa. The company supplied various trinkets and stationary items designed to make people's lives easier. Eventually our founder's son, my grandfather John Hendriks II, took control of the operation and ran it successfully for decades. There evolved a branch of the family business tree in Kansas City, and years later my dear mom Marion became the chief owner/operator; Marion continues to service a few longstanding clients to this day, part-time, despite being well into her late 70s!
Marion has three daughters and the youngest, Denise, began working for her in 2003. By 2011, Marion was ready for semi-retirement and Denise became the full-time owner/operator of the John Hendriks Company. Denise quickly realized the business model was in need of a thorough revamp, so a full scale re-branding was conducted with a name change and legal incorporation, a custom corporate website with html map, custom logo and SEO, and Denise's beloved cousin Barb Stein opened for business in Kansas City to work alongside the Omaha based headquarters and service a larger area.
Today, Omaha Promos, LLC proudly remains a registered Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) doing business from coast to coast in over 20 states!
We do one thing and we do it well: We help businesses and non-profits increase their brand awareness and reach in the marketplace through an innovative strategy of promotional products, branded merchandise, custom apparel and uniforms.
